Happy Birthday to ‘The Fox & the Hound’

The Fox & the Hound

The Fox & the Hound

Once again, we have a birthday upon us! Today, in 1981, the Walt Disney Production Company released its 24th film in the Walt Disney Animated Classic Series, ‘The Fox and the Hound’.

The film tells the story of two unlikely friends, Tod (fox) and Copper (hound dog), who struggle to maintain their childhood friendship despite pressure to succumb to their natural animal instinct – for Copper to hunt Tod. Spoiler alert: after an hour of crying, it will all work out! 😉

At the time of production, The Fox and the Hound was the most expensive animated movie to produce at $12 million. It’s domestic box office took in $43.9 million.

So Happy Birthday Tod, Copper and the rest of the gang at ‘The Fox & the Hound’. You’re almost as old as me! 😉
